-Keyboard shortcuts improve efficiency and productivity in the workflow.
-Using keyboard shortcuts can save significant time and effort compared to using a mouse.
-Keyboard shortcuts allow for seamless switching between applications and opening new tabs.
-By eliminating the need to navigate through menus and options, keyboard shortcuts enable physicians to work more efficiently.
For eg:
When starting a new encounter note: CTRL + N ....opens a new encounter note. A keystroke for submitting the note or closing the encounter (ALT + F4 or something similar). Similarly when navigating in the Appointment/Schedule or eChart section, physicians and staff can use their respective favorite keystrokes depending on an individual's workflow to work more efficiently. The keystrokes can be explained in the help section. A small underscore under a letter in the Icons can help identify the respective keystroke...For eg: an underscore under M in medication section, underscore under P in Prevention, underscore under F in the eForm section etc. So one can use "CTRL + M" to open medication section. In case there is conflict with Windows or Apple keystrokes other alternatives are "ALT + M" OR "SHIFT + M". Just like "CTRL + P" is normally used for printing a document in Windows/Apple/other programs, so here an alternative like "ALT + P" OR "SHIFT + P" can be configured.
Hope to see Avaros technical staff roll out this feature soon.
Thank You !!
